Alkaline versus Acid

Human - Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Alternative Human Treatments

Irritable Bowel Symndrome can often be a whole gamut of digestive problems lumped under one title.

It essentially is a strong response to foods, stress and bile (digestive enzymes)acids.

Do you have more problems with constipation or diarrhea ?

• Diet- Allergies to the following foods can be a problem:- wheat, onion, dairy, choc, coffee, eggs, citrus, - do any of these make the IBS worse that you know of, Try cutting out dairy or any refined white wheat flour products for a start, and keep track of the results . 
  
• Slippery elm powder -1 heaped teaspoon twice daily either sprinkled on cereal in the morning or mixed into yoghurt, stewed fruit, or mashed banana later before meals. 
• Drinking peppermint tea, chamomile tea, dandelion tea/coffee on a daily basis is good for liver and reducing spasms. 
• Mintec- enteric coated peppermint oil capsules are available and would be helpful. 
• Meditation would be wonderful Joline- allow yourself the time -maybe learn from some one initially.

Feline - Lymphoma - Alternative Cat Treatments

Feline Lymphoma (malignant lymphoma, lymphosarcoma) is probably the single most common cancer that affects cats.

This is a solid tumour of a type of white blood cell (lymphocyte) that is involved in immune responses. In addition to being present in the blood, there are accumulations of lymphocytes that occur elsewhere in the body - either in discrete sites (lymph nodes or lymph 'glands') or within other tissues. Because of the wide distribution of lymphocytes in the body, lymphoma (malignant tumour of the cells) can occur at virtually any site, and also commonly occurs at multiple sites. Common sites to be affected include the lymph nodes (distributed throughout the body), the chest cavity, the intestinal tract, the nose, the kidneys and the nervous system. Clinical signs vary according to the tissues that are affected. Both infection with leukaemia virus and immunodeficiency virus can be underlying or predisposing causes of lymphoma development.

Lymphoma in cats is often intestinal and it is therefore hard to find, even with a very careful examination and radiographs.

I see Lymphoma and Lymphosarcoma as the end result of a systemic and prolonged overload on the lymphatic system, the blood and the immune system in general, which may never have appeared without late 20th century feeding practices.

The people who approach me for Lymphatic Cancer Support treatments are often the most caring of owners and many of them have been trying to do the right thing by their dogs. A small number are not even guilty of any of the feeding practices mentioned above.

Probiotics come in many different forms such as probiotic yoghurts and fermented milk drinks. While Health food stores and pharmacies often have probiotic powders and capsules (some of which claim to be suitable for infants and small children).

Prebiotics:-These are an alternative way of changing the levels of the different types of bacteria in your gut. They're food supplements that encourage growth of the friendly bacteria already in your gut.

Friendly bacteria restore intestinal balance, which results in

• the prevention of adherence of unwanted microorganisms 
• the production of a wide array of antibacterial and antifungal compounds 
• improved resistance against bacteria like E.coli, Salmonella, and H. pylori

Canine - Urinary Tract Infections - Alternative Dog Treatments

We are currently hearing of many dogs experiencing this particular problem. It can be recuurent if they are using antibiotics.
