Yeast found in the body changes to its fungal form and starts to overgrow in the gut, causing toxins to leak into the body and causing a breakdown in the body's defences (immune system). The result is that we start to see a systemic reaction usually involving infection, of the skin, coat, ear or bladder. When you understand that the skin is the biggest filter organ in the body, you can foresee that this is where the toxins in the body end up, causing the health issues you see in your dog. The Combination of herbs that I use to address this problem is Echinacea, Garlic, Horsetail, Pine Bark, Nettle, Red Clover Thuja & Violet Leaves with the Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy, Crab Apple. I also recommend adding a good quality probiotic to re seed beneficial gut flora. Once benefits are achieved through the use of this treatment and dependence on pharmaceutical antibiotics & steroids are reduced, I recommend a follow up consultation during which I will investigate the underlying causes of your dog's condition.
